Our Story
A dream perceived by two fashion conoissures,Vedika and Amruta, Silsila marks their journey from pursuing their passion to
bringing this dream to life as two complementary forces of the same pod. While pursuing fashion styling at Istituto Marangoni, the
duo’s everyday experiences, observations taken from the streets of London and Paris intrigued them to explore and urge people to
celebrate the street style native to India.
On returning to India, our founders set out to revive the true essence of Indian street wear that has been forgotten/diminished
under the influence of the western sub culture. Silsila brings to life the colours, vibrancy and eclectic vibe of the multi cultural land
of India through the reinterpretation of textile techniques while reimagining the future it beholds. In the heart of Silsila lies the
spirit of the Indian woman, she is culturally rooted yet stands in power with a world that is constantly evolving.
Silsila aspires to belong in the everyday life of diverse women adding a trendy edge to Indian basics. Our clothing underlines
versatility through silhouettes that are meant to adapt to every occasion in functionality and style that goes without saying. As we
seek this dream, Silsila hopes to transpire as the source of inspiration and support that women will seek from the Silsila tribe.

About founders
Our two founders, Vedika and Amruta trace their friendship back to pursuing fashion styling from
Istituto Marangoni, London. A shared passion for the subject opened doors to a new journey of
the duo with the founding of Vanda, a PR and sourcing agency for fashion. After garnering a
good deal of industry experience, a dream envisioned by the duo came into being with the birth
of Silsila. Call them two sides of the same coin, Vedika’s inherent style of colour blocking and
staying in sync with current trends impeccably complements Amruta’s personal style sense
inspired from the streets. Silsila marks the coming together of two passionate fashion
connoisseurs driven by a dream that inspired them to explore Indian street style and celebrate it
with a fashion forward zest.
